MADRID ART LAB
FINAL THESIS PROJECT
While ruminating, Pablo Picasso claimed that… “Every child is born an artist The problem is how to remain an artist while growing up...”. To what I ask myself: how do we remain artists as we grow up?
The answer I would give the master would be the MADRID ART LAB: a training and fabrication art center for children where boys and girls can develop their creativity in a family environment.
Guided by their childish intuition, kids, along with teachers, parents and grandparents collaborate together to design and construct different prototypes of ARTEFACTS.
These ARTEFACTS are objects of architectonic-scuptural nature, half toy-half furniture, that can become street furniture, plant stands, pergolas, swings, urban sports facilities... They are built in an assembly line, as an industrial product; however, each one will be singular and unique, like a work of art. As different prototypes are produced, these are distributed across the multitude of parks around the urban context.
